The proper solution would be to get a packaged driver from the printer manufacturer, however this server was already using the latest drivers. Open the Print Management console on the server and select drivers to identify these. This error was suppressed.Īfter some research I have found out that this is happening because the print driver on the server is not a “packaged” driver. The specified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to be downloaded. The user preference item in the Group Policy Object did not apply because it failed with error code 0x80070bcb

  • There were no item level targeting configured at the item level of the GPOĪfter checking the event logs, found the following warning in the Application log:.
  • GPO applied to the client (gpresult /r).
  • Correct print driver was installed on the server.
  • Point and print restrictions were correctly configured.
  • The latest Windows 10 build (anniversary edition, 3) was not getting the printers from group policy preferences.
